JM - Phoenix, Arizona
1997 Lexus LX450 w/ 200K miles
Here's a picture of the LX450 right after the accident and
then right after the reconstruction. It was stock except
for the grill guard. Very slight damage considering the PT
Cruiser my wife hit was totaled. Since insurance was
buying, I got me an ARB winch bumper.....someday I'll afford
the winch. Also the headlight busted and I found these on
ebay. At first I was skeptical
about replacing the very bright stock ones with unknown
after market lights. But they looked pretty hot so I bit.
I was pleasantly surprised at the results. These are crazy
bright!! and a straight forward install too. The biggest
problem was that the headlights are made for a Land
Cruiser....and I have an LX450. The headlights are tapered
different. In the end all I had to buy was a Land Cruiser
grill which I promptly modified to accept my recently
blacked out Lexus emblem.
The only recommendations I have. Buy amber colored corning
lights, do what you can to save the original wiring in case
you want to go back to that some day, and NEVER throw away
any original parts until the job is done. These headlights
need most of the mounting hardware off of the stock ones.
And last of all, if you modify the Lexus version like I did,
you will need to buy Land Cruiser chrome top pieces for the
headlights, thats why mine look too short.

I
would like to share with you a testimonial of the ARB bulbar, and
Kaymar products you sell at
MAN-A-FRE. My wife was involved in a major accident
in her 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80. She was crushed between two big rigs on the highway
near our home she walked away from the accident with medium
injuries. The highway patrol officer and the paramedics said she was
lucky to be alive. It was the way the car was built that saved her.
Needless to say she wants another Land Cruiser and an ARB bullbar on her truck too.
